International Research

Nearly 1,400 faculty members are involved in international research, teaching, and service projects at MSU—one of only four public universities in the United States that rank in the top 10 for both international student enrollment and study abroad participation. International studies programs at MSU are organized by geographic location and thematic areas.

International Research by Geographic Area

MSU international research focuses on five geographic areas: Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and Russia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Read more

Support for International Studies and Scholars

The Office of International Development supports collaborative research projects that have an international component. The Office of International Studies and Programs promotes international activities throughout the university. The Office for International Students and Scholars provides advising and assistance to international students at MSU.
